2021 AUDI E-TRON (upbeat music) – Welcome back guys. Jason Campbell here withZimbrick Audi of Madison. Today, we're gonna take alook at the all new 2021 Audi e-tron. Let's take a peak. (upbeat music) So one, of the coolest thingshere about the 2021 e-tron, is that they've. Addeda premium trim level. Prior years you could onlyget it in a premium plus and a prestige. But what they've done is, they've added a premiumentry, an entry level trim, that is $8,800 cheaper. See where your.. Startingprice is around 65,000 versus 75,000. And that premium trim comespretty darn loaded as well. You still get air suspension standard, you get navigation standard, and then you have the option to add a convenience packageonto this.
Premium trim. That'll give you some nicedriver's assistance functions, black, optic trim, which we'll get into a little more. One of the big differenceshere in the 2021 model, is the optional black optic trim. You can, get it now, basically in any of the three trims. It, comes as part of theconvenience package. So you do get your niceblack blacked out grill. And then instead of Chrome surroundings,. Window surroundings and roof rail, you get nice black, black trim. So, part of the convenience package now, one thing they did change yearto year is the convenience which can be.
Added to that premium trim, will give you, the lane assist, the adaptive cruise assist, and then, now the blackoptic trim as well. So, a lot of good feedbackon the black, optic trim. So it's nice that you can nowadd it, add it on to any trim. So, also available inthis convenience package, you do get the top downand the. 360 camera. So, there's a camera above the mirror, the rear view mirror, cameras under both of the side mirrors, as well. As down here.
Inthe front and the back. So, available now on any trim, the premium, the premiumplus or the prestige, you can get that top down, 360 camera. So here we are inside the 2021 e-tron. A lot of it is very similar, very similar carry over. Fromthe 2019 2020 model year. There are some, somechanges most notably in the, the range of the, vehicle. You do get the option. Well, you are able to now use an extra three kilowatthours of the battery, which is the reason or one of the reasons forthe bump in range. Here, in the 2021 model. There are two variants for the 2021. There's the normal e-tron, which is what we're in. Right now. And then there is. Now an, or there's a secondary sport back version that has a little sleeker tail end to it. It's looks, a little bit smaller. It's not, it's not really any smaller. The trunk might be a little bit, a little bit, slimmer becauseof, of how it slopes down. But all in all the vehicle itself is, is just right just about the same, but you.
Do get, so you get access to anextra three kilowatt hours of the battery. And also, Audi now allows youto decouple the front motor. So there's, dually synchronous. Motors, front and rear, and the 2019. 2020 model you, when you were cruising onthe highway interstate, for example, both motors were, weregoing at the same time. Now, when you're in that type of a mode, the. Front motor is able to decouple from the rest of the powertrain. And so you save a littlebit of, of, of energy. So when your, front motor isnot running unnecessarily, then it'll go just to a rear wheel, bias. And that's where the extra range comes. So for the 2021 e-tron you do get, you do, now get 222 miles per charge. And then the sport back isslightly less than 218 miles. But that's a big improvementover the previous, roughly 200 miles. Per, per range, or range per battery. The inside, the technologyhere. Is pretty darn similar. You still get the beautifultwo touch screens here. So this model that we're in right now, this. Is the new premium trim that is available. So you can still see the orientation, the technology, the interfacewith the infotainment system. It's all the same. Bottom screen here,, controls all your comfortand climate control. And the top.
Does thenavigation, your trip computer, all your settings, media. And also standard is thisbeautiful virtual cockpit here, in front of. The steering wheel. Again, where you can put your navigation and have your driver'sassistance keep computer, phone, media. So there's a lot of ways tocustomize the presentation and even, make your dialsbigger or smaller as well. Tremendous amount of, pickup. I just never get sickof driving this thing. It's amazing. (chuckles) I personally like to makemy dials a little smaller so I can see what's in the background there in the virtual. Cockpit. Now since this is the premium, there's no head-up. Display. It is optional head-up display where you'll get some information on, turn out your windshield,. Like your speed, speed limit. If you have a destination plugged in, you'll get your turn by turndirection in full color, as well as adaptive cruisecontrol lane assist. And that, all shows upon, on the windshield, on that, on that top trim level, that prestige. Here, here at Audi. But this one that we're in, the premium, since it has that, thatconvenience package that I was mentioning before, I do have the, driver's assistance and the cruise and theadaptive cruise control. So you can see down here, that I'm able to set my. Speed. Maybe actually blow thisup a little bit for.
You. Here we go. I.
